# Translations & languages

> Set up your store in any of the 27 supported languages

Elixir includes translations for **27 languages** out of the box. All theme text (buttons, labels, cart messages, error messages, etc.) is translated — you don't need to do it manually.

## Enabling languages

1. In Shopify admin, go to **Settings → Languages**.
2. Click **Add language** and select the language you want.
3. Publish the language to make it available on your storefront.

Once published, Elixir's translations are automatically applied. The **language selector** in the header lets customers switch between your published languages.

## RTL support

For right-to-left languages (Arabic, Hebrew), enable **RTL support** in **Theme settings → Typography**. This mirrors the entire layout — navigation, text alignment, and section ordering flip to right-to-left.

## Customizing translations

If you want to change specific translation strings (e.g. change "Add to cart" to "Buy now"):

1. In Shopify admin, go to **Settings → Languages**.
2. Click on the language you want to edit.
3. Filter by **Theme** to see all theme-specific strings.
4. Edit any string and save.
